The Myrtle Plantation

The Myrtle PlantationThe Myrtles Plantation (located In St. Francisville, Louisiana) was built in 1796 by General David Bradford. It claims to be the most haunted house in America with the number of ghosts estimated at around 14. The Inn (or B&B) was built on a site known for it’s previous slavery connections, murders and it was also proposed that an ancient Indian burial ground was located nearby by too.

There have been ten known murders in the house, plus at least one suicide. The most frequent ghostly visitor is named as Chloe. Chloe was a local slave who was hung for murdering two young girls. The story is told that General Bradford’s son-in-law (Clarke) decided to cut off the black woman’s ear for eaves dropping into conversations. Her revenge was too mix poison into the 2 children’s birthday cake which resulting in a painful death. The two children’s ghosts have been reported to have been seen many times playing on the porch of the building. Many other ghosts include lowly shadowy type figures, most likely to have been part of the slave trade, have been seen in this area of the building, possibly still reporting for their duties.

Chloe herself was was soon found out and quickly hung on site for her crime. Chloe is now regularly seen roaming the house wearing her slave garments and a turban which was used to cover her missing ear…

Haunted Place in Sweden called Borgvattnets Rectory, the house was built in 1876 as a rectory for priests and stories say that already in the 19th century the house experienced unnatural activity, but for this there are no real evidence.
